Minister: Yandex.Eda, Delivery Club, VK may have free access

MOSCOW, Mar 11 (PRIME) -- Food delivery services Yandex.Eda and Delivery Club and social network VKontakte may join the list of Russia’s socially important resources with free access, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Wednesday on the sidelines of conference TAdviser IT Government Day 2020.

“Our position on the matter is clear-cut -- the list of resources, websites, which will have free access for our citizens, who are subscribers, will include all socially important things. It means social networks, messengers, food delivery services, everything people need in their daily life, what they frequently use,” Shadayev said.

VKontakte’s video and music will to be charged.

“Streaming traffic will be blocked,” the minister said.

The list of free resources will also include online media, education and healthcare services, as well as messengers.
